ABSTRACT

The objective of this proposal is to position ApeCoin as the web3 culture token to power the broader web3 ecosystem. This proposal aims to secure 750,000 APE to acquire NFTs which represent various cultures and also with a certain level of influence in web3. The acquired NFTs will be managed via a community-governed vault, voted by the sister DAO members, and open for $APE holders to utilize the IP with potential grants in $APE in the near future. The initial deployment of $APE for NFT acquisition will be operated and decided by the Committee.

Our 5-step approach to execute this proposal are as follows:

1. Purchase the selected NFTs using the grant in $APE
2. ApeCoin holders owning the governance rights of the usage or moblization of the acquired NFTs (voting through a sister DAO)
3. (Sister DAO Process) ApeCoin DAO will lease these NFT IPs to $APE holders / proposers
4. (ApeCoin DAO or Sister DAO Process) Use $APE to fund the development of these IP utilizations
5. (ApeCoin DAO or Sister DAO Process) Adopt $APE in these products

$APE will be the token that powers the operations and execution of every stage, all the way from initial NFT acquisition to the development of products leveraging these NFT IPs. This will create vital benefits for the ApeCoin ecosystem because it will lead to wider adoption and usage of $APE beyond its current applications.

Sister DAO to be governed by $APE holders with the following decision making:

• Whether specific NFT IPs should be rented to a specific proposer based on the suggested products or projects
• $APE funding for development of the suggested products or projects using the vault's NFT IPs
• Which NFT collections to buy / sell from in the vault’s future NFT acquisitions after the initial acquisition based on this proposal

This sister DAO would operate outside of the main ApeCoin DAO, but still consist of the same membership base with the only requirement being to own 1 $APE.

Supercharge IP utilization within and beyond the APE ecosystem

• This community-run vault will acquire, hold, and empower utilizing a number of NFTs from notable NFT collections across the web3 landscape. Benefits:
  • The first application of the acquired NFT IP to create products / services will set the first example of receiving $APE support to power the broader web3 ecosystem and other projects
  • The NFTs acquired via the vault can be used by the ApeCoin community without having to deploy capital and own the NFTs themselves, however able to utilize the IP to the holders’ preference of projects
  • Open cross-community dialogue and supercharge the educational process of ApeCoin DAO involvement

One of the many benefits of this vault’s sister DAO is its low-barrier entry of owning at least 1 APE to have governance and usage rights in this vault.

OVERALL COST

We propose allocating an initial budget of 750,000 ApeCoin from the DAO treasury for acquiring NFTs. The budget will be utilized as such:

1. 500,000 $APE: To purchase NFTs from various platforms and projects that align with the vision and values of ApeCoin, encompassing art, music, virtual worlds, gaming, and other web3 domains
2. 250,000 $APE: As a buffer for additional NFT purchases that may be needed and development of any related services to assist in initial vault maintenance

ABSTRACT

The Ape Inn began as a fun idea for an ApeCoin hackathon prize at the EthGlobal Scaling Ethereum event in March, 2023. After a fun and successful event, I was very grateful to receive 2 ApeCoin awards from our wonderful judges, Maaria and Lost.

I was given 1 ApeCoin by Maaria, and invited to join the ApeCoin DAO and submit an AIP. A vibrant community welcomed me at the DAO. A community of artists, creators, builders, gamers and web3 frens from all walks of life.

I’ve been afforded many great opportunities to grow and thrive within the DAO, all with the help of the wonderful ApeCoin community, thank you!

AIP 243: The Ape Inn - EthGlobal Project is an ApeCoin Grant Proposal which aims to bring the concept to life and continue to grow the project with the help of the ApeCoin DAO and community.

BENEFIT TO THE APECOIN ECOSYSTEM

The Ape Inn will be Powered by ApeCoin and aims to create new uses cases for the $APE token. A monthly subscription fee will be offered in ApeCoin for premium content and features, with more coming in phase two of the project.

The project will generate revenue from fees on NFT trades made through the platform. The current NFT API allows us to show certain price data in the token of choice.

We will showcase ApeCoin throughout the platform with options to switch between ETH, WETH and ApeCoin.

The ApeCoin Grant will assist in bringing The Ape Inn concept to life and launch us into the next phase. ABSTRACT

Embracing the values of the DAO, Hangout and Vulkan have taken the initiative to establish a Beta Testing Group, offering invaluable feedback on projects free of charge. Open to all who wish to participate, from users to project contributors, the group has already successfully completed its initial version. Now, it is time to elevate the program by introducing policies, procedures, and structure. To achieve this, this proposal suggests creating a custom “Beta Tester” badge on the Forum, symbolizing legitimacy and fostering a sense of belonging and accomplishment for its members.

Future plans encompass expanding the program’s scope, reaching beyond the DAO, and providing user feedback to external projects. Additionally, the group aims to act as a bridge between communities, encouraging interaction and coordination, resulting in enhanced opportunities for collaboration.

ABSTRACT

I would like the ApeCoin DAO to give away (for free) ApeCoin DAO merch to Ape Fest participants meeting some criteria. This is aimed to increase the awareness about, and participation in, the DAO among the wider Yuga ecosystem.

• Increase participation meaningfully among the most enthusiastic audience (ApeFest attendance is a good proxy for enthusiasm for the ecosystem and “meaningful participation” can be ascertained by linking our giveaway to apply only to Trust Level 2 holders).

• Word of mouth - Imagine this conversation repeated 100+ times at ApeFest. “That’s a great tshirt/ cap, where did you get it?” “I got it from the ApeCoin DAO because I’m active in the ApeCoin discord.” “Wow, I didn’t even know something like it existed.”

• Minimal cost: We can have a control over quality and costs. We could get something basic (but good quality) for $80 per person (cap + hoodie + t-shirt). Limiting to 100 merch bundles, the total cost would be ~$8k.

ABSTRACT

AIP Idea: The idea is simple. Getting to round two of the elections takes a lot of work from the candidates. Less well off candidates may not put their name forward as they can’t take the time off from their current work or not have earnings for this period. A one time award to the three runner up finalists in each category can make this more equitable. N.B. the AIP is to run for a total of two election cycles.

BENEFIT TO THE APECOIN ECOSYSTEM

It benefits the ApeCoin Ecosystem by encouraging participation in the election process with a range of candidates, as the process is very time consuming. The award level is set that it is enough to be thankful to receive but not so much that it is worth applying for roles just for the reward. It only applies to those who are runners ups in round two as those runner up finalists had to put in significant investment of time and effort as the main competitors. Overall this AIP will make the process more equitable and encourage broader participation.

It is retroactive for those that participated in the July 1st 2023 election. It will also apply to the next election cycle. Therefore in total two cycles. Please note the idea was added before the end of the last election cycle. Also after the two cycles it will require a new AIP to continue this Election Reward Program.

WLT by Satoshi’s Closet is a mobile wallet app for iOS and Android specifically designed to view your entire NFT collection across multiple blockchains and wallets in one place without ever needing to enter your private keys. One feature of the WLT app is ‘WLT SKNS’ - a way to personalize and skin the app with your favorite visual aesthetic. We propose to release (at zero cost) an ApeCoin WLT SKN to have collectors both inside and outside of the Yuga ecosystem enjoy and show their support for ApeCoin.

To materialize this initiative, a robust financial plan has been carved out. Encompassing the various phases of the project, the financial blueprint divides the costs into initial setup and weekly operations.

The project kicks off with an initial investment of 1,200 $APE. This infusion is primarily directed towards a diverse set of tasks that lay the groundwork for the initiative. From setting up the Beehiiv platform, website designing, and development to kick-starting the first round of in-depth research, content creation, and formatting, this phase also involves initial promotion and distribution of the newsletter. Moreover, the cost also takes into account the graphic design aspect, making the content visually appealing and easier to digest.

Following the setup phase, the project enters the operational stage. Here, the weekly recurring cost is 1,050 $APE, accounting for tasks including continued research, content writing, designing, editing, and distributing the newsletters.

The cost that will be received within the year (52 weeks) of weekly recurring payments 55,800 $APE as a total amount.

We aim to build an independent website besides the Beehiiv platform. This would provide a unique, user-friendly experience, fostering a deeper connection between the ApeCoin DAO community and the newsletter.

Therefore, this proposal would fund the ability to empower accepted applicants with our already built zero-code, zero-download AR software used by brands from Paramount Pictures to Compass Real Estate.
• Along with this technology, we provide the advisory resources for the Launchpad participants to follow best practices & achieve success with their physical-meets-digital releases.
• This proposal then empowers creatives & furthers the entrepreneurial ecosystem that is Web3. Each project that emerges from the Ape.AR Launchpad will produce an augmented product or experience, with a requisite to incorporate $APE as its exclusive currency.

Community Benefit #2: Augmented Utility for Collectors

• Through collecting NFTs, I quickly realized that AR technology can even further solve key problems endemic to the Web3 ecosystem. Specifically, it can be leveraged to bridge multiple divides: between physical and digital, between story and product, between online & IRL. In aggregate, this also solves the collector’s greatest concern by offering cohesive, comprehensive, continual utility.
• Both a connection to and extension of the jpeg itself, our AR technology can take any still object, location, or image, regardless of where it appears, bringing it to life with motion and sound. 2D & 3D animations, video, audio, rich text, 360 portals. Once static artworks become dynamic & life-like with personality, stories & journeys.
• Even further, all of the digital layers can be updated anytime, over time, real-time. This presents the potential for utility, or continuous value, in perpetuity. Augmented, unfolding stories. These stories can be strictly narrative, practical like early access to NFT drops, or a combination. Content drops layered onto physical product drops.

This proposal aims to create a unique, ape/monkey-inspired mascot for the Apecoin DAO. The mascot will add depth and personality to the brand, creating an emotional connection and sparking curiosity. My proposal highlights the benefits of having a mascot, including brand recognition, collaboration promotion, community building, adaptability, inspiration for artists, narrative elements, and improving the Discord environment.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

Degenda (http://degenda.io) is a community engagement platform that increases visibility for DAO proposals and announcements. In-app DAO voting will be integrated into the platform to make it as quick and easy as possible for DAO members to vote on upcoming proposals. The platform also enables all-in-one-place event/announcement tracking for multiple Web3 communities that overlap significantly with ApeCoin DAO members.
