Creating an official line of merch starting from casual shoes at affordable price for the community and general public in order to make a revenue stream for the DAO.
With the recent BAYC x BAPE collab, the community saw an interest in merchandise under Yuga’s umbrella, but this was a limited drop with exclusive items only available to a specific group for a specific event; Apefest 2024. Tho the target audience is wide, we cant deny the fact that such shoes don’t appeal to a larger audience with limited drop and price tag. So with Ape shoes, we plan to bring in high end line of casual shoes for a wide range of audience around $ape at a decent price range of $80 with 50% of the sale proceeding going back to the DAO as a ROI. This way DAO members can buy the product and pay for delivery without burning their pocket at the same time. Through this, the community gets their very own Apecoin brand shoes, which can be used by people attending various events; which in fact will help in exposure and free marketing. Selling at $80 gives the DAO 50% revenue with the overall quantity of shoes capped at 1000. This would be $40,000 revenue for the Apecoin DAO where the overall community sentiments has been all time low. That’s straight 48.15% ROI that goes back in DAO treasury.
People will have the option to pay in $ape, $USDT and fiat via Shopify plugin on site. The motivation behind this AIP comes from various different projects and communities pivoting to catering their needs around IRL activations, with the most popular example being Pudgy Penguin’s plushies. Apecoin DAO establishing their presence first in web3 with exclusive shoes for a larger audience will act as a great anchor point for the community that will inspire other businesses to operate more around $ape.
“Total amount requested from the ApeCoin Ecosystem Fund = $27,000.”

The AIP implementation is administered by the Ape Foundation. Implementation may be immaterially or materially altered to optimise for security, usability, to protect APE holders, and otherwise to effect the intent of the AIP. Any material deviations from an AIP, as initially approved, will be disclosed to the APE holder community.
